It helps search engines understand what your pages are about and shapes how your website appears when shared or indexed. ### How is metadata used? Search engines read your page title and description to build the snippet that appears in search results. For example, when someone searches for your business, Google may use the metadata from your About page to create its preview. OG tags are a type of metadata used by social media platforms and messaging apps to generate link previews. These tags determine the title, description, and image shown when someone shares a link to your website. Updating your OG tags allows you to control how your content appears across platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. ### What parts of my site have Metadata? You can set metadata for: - **Each page and blog post** Every page can have its own title, description, and OG image. This ensures each link preview matches the content of that page. - **Your entire website** Sitewide metadata is used only when a page does not have its own metadata set.
