# Changing your B12 password
## Learn how to reset your password to access the B12 Editor.

Follow these steps to change your password directly from the B12 Editor.
### Changing your password
1\. Log in to the [B12 Editor](http://b12.io/dashboard).
2\. At the top of the left sidebar, click the `` logo.

3\. Click `Change password`.

4\. Enter your current password.
5\. Enter your new password under **New password** and **Confirm new password**
6\. Click `Save`.
### Password requirements
When you set a new password, B12 checks it against a few rules that help keep your account secure.
Your new password must:
- Be different from your personal details, such as your name or email address.
- Contain at least eight characters.
- Avoid common passwords. B12 compares your password against a list of the 20,000 most common passwords and won't accept a match.
- Include more than just numbers. A password made up entirely of digits isn't allowed.
