# Why published changes are not visible

## Learn how to troubleshoot unexpectedly missing website changes.

When you make edits in the B12 Editor, your changes are saved automatically, but they are not live until you click `Publish`.

If you’ve published but still don’t see the latest version of your website, this is often due to **browser caching**. Caching happens when your browser or device stores an old copy of your website to help it load faster. This stored version can sometimes prevent you from seeing recent changes right away.

There are three possible ways to correct this problem:

- Perform a "hard refresh" in your browser, which can be done by holding the `Shift` key and clicking the refresh button in your browser.   
  Or use these keyboard shortcuts: For Windows: `Ctrl` + `F5`. For Mac: `Command` +`Shift`+ `R`.
- You may also need to [clear your browser cache](https://support.b12.io/en/articles/2889811-troubleshooting-caching-issues?hsLang=en#step-2-how-to-clear-your-desktop-browser-cache). This removes stored data from websites you have visited before.
- Load the website on an incognito or private browsing window.

**Tip:** Sometimes even your local network or other devices, like routers, can cache data, as well. If none of the steps above work, try loading your website on a smartphone over mobile data **with Wifi turned off**.
