B12 websites utilize standardized templates for product or service pages to ensure a uniform and professional appearance across collection items. When a specific template is applied, each product or service assigned to that template will share the same structural layout, with options for customized elements like images, text blocks, and additional sections as needed.
Below, you can learn how to map content to your product or service pages:
Displaying overwritable content:
You also have the option to decide what text or photos accompany the template. We call this mapping. When you map a field of the website editor, you’re telling it what content to display on the page.
For example, you can map the Title to show the product or service's name, or you can set the Title to always display the same text, no matter the product or service.
To map content to a section of your template you:
1. Log into your B12 editor
2. Select Website
-> Pages
3. On the left-hand editing panel, scroll down to the section labeled Product pages or Service pages
4. Select any product or service from the list
5. On the left-hand editing panel, scroll down to the section labeled Template
6. Select Edit
7. On the left-hand editing panel, select Product or service template
from your list of sections
8. You will then see a section labeled Content on your left-hand editing panel; this is where you will set your content
9. Click Manage
beside the field you want to map, then select Display Overwritable Content

10. Once selected, you can write content that will override the template content on that page.
11. After you make changes, hit the publish button in the upper right corner of your editor to ensure they are live.
