Manually overriding your website's colors

Learn how to manually override your website's colors

Note: This article covers steps to manually override your website's light, dark, and accent colors sitewide. If you would like to update your website's colors, font, or theme without customization, refer to this article.

Follow the steps outlined below to manually override your website's color settings:

1. Log into your B12 Editor, select Website -> Style from the lefthand editing panel

2. From the Style panel, you can:

  • Change your website’s theme to update its overall design.
  • Select a new color palette to refresh the look of your site.
  • Adjust your fonts to match your brand’s style.
  • Update your site's logo

3. Once you've navigated to the style section, on the lefthand editing panel select Colors

4. You can choose from pre-selected color palettes—BrightTraditional, and Dark

 4. Select Override Colors

override5. You'll then be taken to the color palette section where you'll see a list of categorys—Light, Dark, Accent, Text, and Miscellaneous

6. Select the arrow on the right hand side of the category you would like to edit to select a new color

Note: You can select a color using the gradient tool provided or by copying and pasting the hex code of the exact color you'd like to utilize

7. Once you've selected colors for each category, select Generate Color Overrides

8. When asked if you'd like to continue, select Yes

Note: This change will alter all colors across your website, if you'd like to change your color scheme back to what it was before you can manually switch back to your original colors using the same process outlined above or you can restore an older version of your website.
