To provide a seamless listening experience for your audience, you can embed a podcast player directly into your site. This allows visitors to listen to your episodes without leaving your website.
What is a podcast?
A podcast is a series of audio or video episodes distributed over the internet. It's like an on-demand radio show, often focused on specific topics. By embedding a podcast player on your B12 website, you provide a convenient way for your audience to access and enjoy your content.
How to acquire a podcast embed code
Note: The specific steps for getting your embed code will vary depending on your podcast hosting platform. In this guide, we’ll be sharing steps for getting podcast embed codes from RSS.com and Spotify.
RSS.com
RSS.com offers instructions for embedding your podcast on a website, we've also outlined them below:
1. Log in to your RSS.com dashboard or create a free account.
2. Locate the specific episode you want to embed or navigate to one of its public episode pages.
3. Tap the Share button
4. Click Embed
5. Select Latest episode to display only your latest podcast episode. Alternatively, you can click Show to showcase a playlist of your most recent podcast episodes.
6. Click Copy code.
Spotify
Spotify also offers detailed instructions on how to share and embed podcast shows and episodes here. To obtain the podcast embed code, follow these steps:
Note: The embed code functionality is not currently available within the Spotify mobile app or the Spotify for Creators dashboard. It’s only available via https://open.spotify.com or the desktop app.
1. Access the Spotify content you wish to embed (show, episode, or video) using either the Spotify desktop application or the web player at https://open.spotify.com.
2. Locate the three-dot menu next to the content title.
3. Select the Share option followed by Embed show (for a show) or Embed episode (for an episode).
4. The embed code window allows customization of player size, color scheme, and start time for playback.
5. Once configured, copy the provided embed code.
How to add a podcast to your B12 website
1. Log in to your B12 editor.
2. Select Website on the lefthand editing panel.
3. On the lefthand editing panel, select Pages
4. On the lefthand editing panel, select the page you would like to add your podcast integration to. We've chosen the homepage.
5. On the lefthand editing panel, select Add Section to create a new section for the podcast player.
6. From there, select Add Integration and choose HTML.
7. Paste the copied podcast embed code into the B12 code box and click on Add integration.
- Use the Preview function to check the widget’s appearance and make adjustments as needed. Once you’re happy with the integration, click the Publish button in the top right corner of the editor to make your changes live on your website.
