To help you stay compliant with international privacy regulations, B12 allows you to easily enable a GDPR consent notification on your website. This guide outlines how to activate the consent banner and optionally link to your Privacy Policy.
What is GDPR Compliance?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a privacy law enacted in the European Union that requires websites to obtain user consent before collecting personal data such as cookies or contact information. Adding a GDPR consent banner ensures that your visitors are informed and can agree to how their data is used. While this regulation is specific to the EU, enabling the consent banner is a good practice for businesses with international audiences.
How to Enable the GDPR Consent Banner
1. Log into your B12 editor
Go to b12.io/login and sign in with your account credentials.
2. On the left-hand editing panel, click Website
> Settings
3. Select GDPR Consent Notification
4. Check the box labeled Show GDPR consent on website
Optional, add a Privacy Policy link: Enter the link to your Privacy Policy page in the designated field to give users additional transparency.
5. Click Publish
in the upper-right corner of the editor to apply the banner to your live site
