B12 websites utilize standardized templates for Team Member pages to ensure a uniform and professional appearance across profiles. When a specific template is applied, each Team Member assigned to that template will share the same structural layout, with options for customized elements like images, text blocks, and additional sections as needed. Below, you can learn how to map and unmap content to your team member pages:
Mapping content:
You also have the option to decide what text or photos accompany the template. We call this mapping. When you map a field of the website editor, you’re telling it what content to display on the page.
For example, you can map the Title to show the Team member's name, or you can set the Title to always display the same text, no matter the team member.
To map content to a section of your template you:
1. Log into your B12 editor
2. Select Website
-> Pages
3. On the left-hand editing panel, scroll down to the section labeled Team members
4. Select any team member from the list
5. On the left-hand editing panel, scroll down to the section labeled Template
6. Select Edit
7. On the left-hand editing panel, select Team member template
from your list of sections
8. You will then see a section labeled Content on your left-hand editing panel; this is where you will map your content
9. Click Manage
beside the field you want to map, then select Map content to attribute
10. You can then select which field you want this area to display automatically, such as Name or Bio.
Note: Mapped content will display different content on each page relating to the specific team member.
Unmapping content
If you'd like to unmap content on your template, you:
1. Log into your B12 editor
2. Select Website
-> Pages
3. On the left-hand editing panel, scroll down to the section labeled Team members
4. Select any team member from the list
5. On the left-hand editing panel, scroll down to the section labeled Template
6. Select Edit
7. On the left-hand editing panel, select Team member template
from your list of sections
8. You will then see a section labeled Content on your left-hand editing panel; this is where you will unmap your content
9. Click Manage
beside the field you want to map, then select Display content on all pages
10. You will then be able to draft content in that field. Unmapped content will display the same static content on all pages using your template regardless of the team member.
Note: Be sure to click publish after making any of the above changes to ensure they appear on your live site!
