Publishing your website on a GoDaddy domain

If you’re using GoDaddy to manage your domain, you can connect it to your B12 website by updating your DNS records. Follow these steps to complete your manual setup.

Adding your domain

1. In the left sidebar menu, go to Domains.

2. Click Connect domain I already own.

3. Enter your domain, starting with www.

• Check the Make this my primary domain box if you want this domain considered your official domain by search engines. We accomplish this by automatically adding a canonical tag to all pages of your website pointing to your primary domain.

• Check Enable email sending for this domain if you want to be able to send emails through B12, but you are using another email service to receive emails. See more information here.

• Check Enable email forwarding for this domain if you would like to create a custom email address. See more information here.

4. Click Sync domain.

5. Below the GoDaddy login option, click go to our manual setup. 

6. Click Copy for the CNAME Required Value.

Keep this tab open so you can reference these values, if needed, and finish your domain setup.

Editing your domain's records in GoDaddy

1. Open a new tab and log in to your GoDaddy Domain Manager.

2. Select your domain and click Manage DNS.

3. Delete:

• Any A Record with the Name @

• Any CNAME Record with the Name www

4. Click the Add button and add an A Record with these values:

• Type: A

• Name: @

• Points to: 52.22.145.238

• TTL: 1 Hour

5. Click the Add button again and add a CNAME with these values:

• Type: CNAME

• Name: www

• Points to: [Paste the CNAME value you copied from the B12 Editor]

• TTL: 1 Hour

6. Click Add record.

Your A Record and CNAME should look like this:

7. Return to the B12 Editor to check status.

If your records were added correctly, each record will show as Connected with a green light within a few minutes to a few hours.

8. Click Publish to update your live website.
